This programme is designed keeping in mind the important role Monitoring and Evaluation will play in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The programme seeks to enhance the knowledge and skills of development practitioners on the what, why, and how of evaluation with the goal of using credible evidence to measure, assess and inform development efforts around the SDGs. Each day will focus on a specific SDG goal that will be highlighted through theory-based learning (lectures and group exercises), a talk by an eminent speaker and a panel discussion.
At the end of the 5-day programme, participants will have a better understanding of the concepts and tools involved in monitoring and evaluation, different methods to measure programme’s impact and the strengths and weaknesses of each, principles for designing the framework for monitoring a programme, and the types of inferences that can be drawn from different types of data and evidence.
