CLEAR-AA, and the Faculty of Commerce, Law, and Management at the University of the Witwatersrand, have developed a Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) on results-based management. In 2016, this online course attracted over 8 000 participants from 172 countries. Nearly half of the participants came from Africa. As part of our mandate to strengthen M&E capacity in the region, CLEAR is running this course again. The course is designed to meet the growing need for professionals who can design, implement and manage results-based systems in the public service, the non-governmental sector, and multilateral development agencies. They will learn the basics of results-based management, which includes the use of the results framework and its associated performance indicators. They will also learn how monitoring systems and evaluations provide a crucial source of evidence for management decision-making. Participants are free to work at their own pace.
