The Evaluation Conclave 2015 “Building Bridges: Use of Evaluation for Decision-Making and Policy Influence”

CLEAR South Asia participated at the Evaluation Conclave 2015 organised by the Community of Evaluators in Kathmandu, Nepal. The team hosted a panel discussion on ”From Evaluation to Scale-up: Role of Evidence in Expanding Bandhan Konnagar “Targeting the Hardcore Poor” which focused on the evaluations of the TUP programs in India and Bangladesh, highlighting lessons in disseminating evaluation findings and using evaluation findings for decision-making; organised a one-day workshop on “Impact Evaluation: Theory, Practice and Decision-making” which gave an overview of impact evaluation concepts, methods and integrated teaching methods. Both theoretical and example-based lectures were given complemented by group work where participants were able to apply key concepts to real world examples; and participated on two panels on‘Different Perceptions on How to Develop Evaluation Capacities Worldwide” conducted in coordination with the German Institute for Development Evaluation (DEval) and on ‘Impact Evaluations in Varying Situations: Techniques and Challenges’ conducted in coordination with India’s NITI Aayog (Planning Commission). For more information contact, please contact urmy.shukla@ifmr.ac.in
